Day 61 – A Small Visitor

A small cluster of crocuses caught my attention, but it was the bee that made me commit to the shot. I noticed it moving between the petals and waited for the right moment, knowing it would add something alive to an already beautiful scene.

The light was exactly how I hoped for it to be. Shadows in the foreground and behind the flowers framed the scene, while the sunlight illuminated the petals from the side. That contrast gave the flowers a quiet glow against the darker surroundings.

I chose a slightly higher aperture to keep more of the environment visible and to increase my chances with the moving bee. Instead of isolating the flowers completely, I wanted to include more of the setting and let the playground structure softly fade into the background.

A small subject, a brief movement, and light that made it all come together.
